Our NEEMA students are remarkable young women. Most come to NEEMA from extremely vulnerable situations and have experienced poverty, rejection, and abuse - yet they are strong and determined - grateful for the opportunity to point their lives in a new direction. Here are some of their stories:

In January 2016, NEEMA opened a NEEMA Production Shop and Training Center at a location near the town of Kitale, as a pilot project. It was created to be in a location where some of the young women who have successfully completely 2 years at NEEMA can come and gain more practical experience in a shop setting. The young women come to the shop, Monday through Friday, and learn about running a small business. They develop their sewing skills by fulfilling contract jobs that come to the shop and grow in customer service skills. By building a customer base, they are able to have a savings account with funds earned from their work. We are excited to see the opportunity that this new NEEMA Production Shop and Training Center grows over time and enhances our overall mission.
