“Prayer has brought me closer to God and given me the strength to face challenges.”
Students worship together during morning devotional time.
In many rural Kenyan communities, Christian faith is familiar — but for young women, the opportunity to explore Scripture personally is often out of reach. With limited access to Bibles and education, their understanding of God is shaped more by secondhand messages than by thoughtful engagement, leaving them vulnerable to confusion or imbalance.
This can leave a young mother feeling hopeless.
We want every young woman to know she is deeply loved and called to a life of hope and purpose. We also want to give young women opportunities to ask important questions, understand the core tenets of faith, and explore the Bible for themselves.
That’s why Neema provides every student with her own Bible, offers the Alpha Discipleship Course to students and guardians, and partners with a wonderful chaplain to spiritually encourage students, guardians, and community members.
Tabitha reads her Bible during morning devotional time.
This commitment, together with trauma counseling and vocational training, leads to complete transformation in the lives of many of our students and a newfound discovery of hope. Students often voice the depth and power of their spiritual growth.
"When I first came to Neema, I struggled a lot. But through Alpha, I’ve learned to pray, and it has made such a difference in my life. I’m really excited about it now because I’m able to communicate with God about my needs and find comfort in that connection. I’m feeling much more at ease and peaceful. It’s amazing how prayer has brought me closer to God and given me the strength to face challenges. I’m so thankful for this journey and for all the growth I’ve experienced."

To see how the lives of young women have been transformed through programs like Alpha, watch this new video.
When you donate, you’re not just helping young women learn skills and train for a future job. (You are doing that, of course!) But just as importantly, your ongoing support is transforming them from the inside out.
Because of your generosity, Neema students come to understand the depth of God’s love for them. Forgiveness and hope come together to renew young women from the inside out.
A donation of just $15 can provide a young woman with a Bible and journal while $50 can cover the cost of a chaplain’s visit.
“I am drawn close to God and whenever I am passing through difficult times, I am encouraged by his Word. The Alpha program made me understand many things — how to interpret the Scripture, especially who Jesus is, why he died, why and how to pray, and who the Holy Spirit is."

Note: Once a month on Sundays, we meet virtually on Zoom to join in prayer for our students and their families in Kenya. All are welcome to join us! Click here for more information.
